Mar is an illustrator from South Florida, currently living and making things on the unceded Piscataway Conoy Land that makes up Baltimore, Maryland.

Their debut full-length graphic novel BROWNSTONE in collaboration with Samuel Teer was released on June 11th, 2024 and has received starred reviews from Kirkus and Publishers Weekly, as well as being nominated for a Harvey Award for best YA Graphic Novel.

Past and current clients include Warner Brothers Animation, Penguin Random House, Little, Brown & Co., Possum Creek Games, Power & Magic Press, BOOM! Studios, Archaia, Latinographix, and Beyond Press. 

They were featured the 2023 Ignatz winner for Outstanding Anthology Shades of Fear (Balustrade Press), and were nominated for Outstanding Mini Comic (YLLW YLLW YLLW, published by Diskette Press) and Promising New Talent in the 2019 Ignatz Awards. Their comic Streams of Consciousness was featured in the 2020 Prism Award winning anthology HEARTWOOD, from Power & Magic Press.

Together with their partner Sunmi, they edit and self-publish a new yearly comics magazine dedicated to queer, josei-inspired stories called Datura Magazine. Issue #3 releasing at CALA 2024 will feature work from creators such as Molly Mendoza, Leigh Luna, Karen Czap, and more.
